July was a packed month of events and workforce initiative expansion for the ACA, where prominent issues brought forward by the industry were at the forefront of ACA’s work.
July highlights featured in this month’s newsletter include:
- ACA analysis of the recently-released ARCANA and Alberta Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ADACC) reports on prompt payment and adjudication.
- BuildForce Canada has released updated editions of its Construction and Maintenance looking Forward reports for 2026-2035, which feature new statistics and future predictions on workforce needs and growth in the industry.
- ACA coverage of Apprenticeship and Industry Training’s Registrar’s Report 2024-25, including identifying trends and concerns for the future of Alberta’s skilled trades apprenticeship programs.
- Using grant support from the government of Alberta, ACA is launching new digital and technology focused training courses in the Summer of 2026 as part of ACA’s Digital Tradesperson Training initiative. More information on this initiative will be released soon.
In addition to these updates from July, this month’s newsletter also contains ACA’s stance on the recently proposed BC-Alberta West-Coast Pipeline and Northern Shield Energy Corridor project.
