This month, the ACA discusses our multiple meetings with Alberta decision-makers, the Nova-Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Trades Exhibition Hall, and the Alberta government’s speech from The Throne.
The newsletter highlights several key meetings and developments that occurred in October, including:
- October saw the ACA advance our mission further by executing important meetings with members across the province. We met with Minister of Municipal Affairs Dan Williams to the most prominent issues facing Alberta’s construction industry, such as procurement and municipal planning. At the forefront of the discussion was the emphasis on collaboration to ensure the industry remains competitive and efficient.
- The ACA will be supporting the Infrastructure Partner Conference, taking place on Wednesday, November 5th from 5-11:30pm, and Thursday, November 6th, from 7:30am – 4:30pm.
- ACA Chair Jen Hancock and ACA Executive Director Warren Singh made stops across Alberta, in Red Deer, Medicine Hat, and Calgary to meet with key industry members, decision-makers and trades apprentices.
- The ACA joined the Minister of Education, representatives from the Construction Labour Relations Association (CLRA), Alberta Building Trades, and Ministry staff in Halifax to discuss a potential Alberta-based trades exploration centre.
