June was a very busy month of advocacy and government collaboration for the ACA, ensuring the industry’s most pressing issues were brought forward to provincial decision-makers.
June highlights featured in this month’s newsletter include:
- ACA met with Premier Danielle Smith, alongside Minister of Infrastructure Martin Long and other provincial government officials on June 8th to discuss Alberta’s long-term growth and the challenges and opportunities that come with it. The meeting also included a period in which Minister Long and Premier Smith answered important questions regarding construction capacity, labour market challenges, and the future of improvement in procurement.
- ACA contributed to national discussions concerning workforce priorities at the Industry Liaison Committee meeting on June 2nd.
- ACA’s welcoming remarks to newly appointed Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Darren Hedley, and Deputy Minister for the Treasury Board and Finance Liam Stone.
ACA will persist in forwarding outcomes and solutions through advocacy and consistent government collaboration to ensure the voices of each member of the construction industry are heard.
