Careers in Construction

Alberta Apprenticeship

There has never been a better time to pursue a career in the skilled trades. The Conference Board of Canada estimates a shortage of one million workers in trades and related occupations within the next 20 years. Employers across Alberta are already feeling the impact as the “Baby Boomer” generation nears retirement and demand for skilled workers grows.

CAREERS: The Next Generation

CAREERS: The Next Generation is an industry-driven public–private partnership dedicated to helping Alberta’s youth explore and launch careers in the skilled trades. By bringing together industry, educators, government, communities, and students, CAREERS addresses both youth employability and skilled labour shortages.
