This month, our newsletter covers Premier Smith’s September mandate letters as well as Prompt Payment Guidelines.
Premier Danielle Smith’s mandate letters and what they spell our for Alberta’s construction industry were at the forefront of this month’s ACA Newsletter. We covered several other notable events in the newsletter, including:
- Details of the mandate letters and the ACA’s most prominent advocacy positions, such as stability in capital spending, procurement reform, workforce development, immigration and economic growth, and building capacity through collaboration.
- Changes affecting the Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act (PPCLA) and prompt payment guidelines. Prompt payment rules were clarified and extended, which is explained in more detail in the newsletter.
- ARCANA, the construction adjudication and nominating authority’s virtual information session focused on PPCLA on November 5.
- ACA’s work with IMAGINit, offering flexible learning models for the Digital Tradesperson Program. The platform itself is called ProductivityNOW and is designed to support organizations that rely on Autodesk tools for design, engineering, and project management.
